Shipping and Returns

Shipping Information

Orders placed by 10 am PST typically ship the same day, however, this is not guaranteed. Orders are shipped Monday – Friday and usually arrive within 1-3 business days but can take up to 5 business days depending on the destination state.

Signature Requirements

It is a federal law that someone 21 or older be available to sign for the delivery. We recommend shipping to a business address or an address where an adult will be available to sign. 

If you are purchasing non-wine items only, those will also require an adult signature because all packaging is manufactured with an Adult Signature requirement on the containers themselves. Thank you for your understanding.

Wine Shipping Restrictions

Due to state laws, we are only able to ship wine to states that allow direct shipment. Some states impose limits on the amount of wine any particular adult may receive by direct shipment. To ensure that you are able to order wine for direct shipment from our website, please review the specific state requirements for your state by clicking here.

States we cannot ship to Arkansas (AR), Delaware (DE), Indiana (IN), Louisiana (LA), Mississippi (MS), Montana (MT) New Jersey(NJ), Rhode Island(RI)

Sending Wine to Another Address

You are welcome to place orders and send them to another address either as gifts or while you’re traveling or vacationing. Simply log in to your account and enter the shipping address you wish to send the order to during checkout.

If you’re sending a gift, you will have the option to add a gift message during checkout.

You are also able to set a future ship date during checkout for any purchases. 

Returned Shipments

When shipments are returned due to 3 unsuccessful delivery attempts, incorrect or missing addresses, or other reasons that are not the fault of Sonoma-Cutrer Vineyards or the carrier, there will be an additional fee to reship the package.

Additionally, when a refund is requested for a returned package, only the contents of the package are refunded. The original shipping fees are not included unless the package was returned due to an error on behalf of Sonoma-Cutrer or the carrier.

Temperature Controlled Shipping

We offer ice packs to help keep your wine cool. Ice packs are effective for approximately 48 hours in transit. Therefore, we recommend placing your order on Wednesdays by 10 am PST when adding an ice pack to your order. Depending on the destination state, you may need to upgrade to 2nd Day Air for shipping to ensure your ice pack remains effective through delivery.

Returns & Exchanges of Product

Merchandise returns or exchanges must be made within 30 days from the date of purchase. No returns or exchanges may be made after 30 days. For purchases made in our Tasting Room, the original receipt is required.

Apparel must be unwashed, unworn, and have the manufacturer’s tags attached.

It is the customer’s responsibility to facilitate the return for refund or exchange at their own expense unless the item is damaged or defective. Items may be subject to a 15% restocking fee.

Club Cutrer 

Club Cutrer members enjoy annual club releases of exclusive winery only and winemaker selections in Winter/February, Spring/May, and Fall/October. 

Club Cutrer members will receive an email two weeks prior to the seasonal club release with the selected wines, pricing, and important dates. Members will have two weeks to make changes, including customizing their wines through their online account.  If no changes are made, the standard selections will be processed to your credit card on file.

We encourage our Club Cutrer members to enroll in UPS My Choice! This is a service that allows you to receive delivery alerts as well as reroute your packages to another address or have your package held for future delivery if you’re not available.
