Derby fans will place bets on this winning wine country version of the Mint Julep.

Difficulty Level Medium
4 ounces Sonoma-Cutrer Sonoma Coast Chardonnay
1 ounce Mint Simple Syrup*
Stir and pack a julep with crushed ice.
Garnish with a large bouquet of fresh mint.
For Mint Simple Syrup*:
In a sauce pan, add one part water and one part sugar.
Bring to a boil stirring to dissolve all the sugar.
Remove from heat and add one part fresh mint (Stems and all).
Let steep for 20 minutes then strain.
Let cool then place in glass pitcher and refrigerate until ready for use.
