Our 2021 Rosé of Pinot Noir is a beautiful and delicate example of why Russian River Valley Pinot Noir makes a wonderful rosé. The beautiful, light salmon color of the wine catches the light in the glass and opens up with aromas of tangerine, pink grapefruit, strawberry, raspberry and a light hint of rose petal. A crisp, refreshing mouthfeel accentuates the fresh fruit flavors of citrus, red berry fruit with a tropical twist that leads to a long, juicy and tangy finish. It is the perfect warm weather wine to sip on all summer long.

And here we go again!
With only a third of our normal rainfall & a fairly dry spring, all of California is in the midst of a historic drought. As in other drought years, our vineyard team prioritized careful monitoring of the vine needs & soil moisture which got us through a difficult season.
A huge benefit was a perfect spring and summer season with no weather extremes. This was followed by a typical cool down the first half of August and then perfect ripening weather throughout the entire harvest. We started about a week later than normal with grapes for rosé from Vine Hill Ranch on Aug 24. With the perfect conditions, the harvest for rosé ended at Owsley on Sept 13.
